The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) and technology company Compuware will discuss the challenges the organization faced in getting to Stage 6 EMR adoption at the HIMSS 2010 Conference in Atlanta on March 3 at 1:00 pm.
The increased computerization of U.S. hospitals hasn't made them cheaper or more efficient, although it may modestly improve the quality of care for heart attacks, Harvard researchers reported in the Nov. 20 edition of the American Journal of Medicine.

HIMSS Analytics will recognize 15 hospitals with its first Stage 7 Award at the 2009 HIMSS conference next month in Chicago. The award represents attainment of the highest level on the HIMSS Analytics' EMR Adoption Model.
