The High Flux Reactor in Petten, the Netherlands is expected to restart in the second half of August, as the first activities to repair the reactor’s cooling water pipework started today, according to the Nuclear Research and Consultancy Group of the Netherlands.
The Nuclear Research and Consultancy Group (NRG) submitted a request for the environmental impact assessment report for the PALLAS reactor that will replace the High Flux Reactor to the Dutch ministry of housing, spatial planning and the environment.
The Nuclear Research & Consultancy Group returned the High Flux Reactor into operation on Monday, following its annual month-long maintenance stop. With this, the production of medical isotopes and the nuclear research activities are resumed one day ahead of schedule.
