MDS, a provider of products and services to the global life sciences
markets, has initiated a restructuring plan that will result in the
reduction of approximately 210 employees.
The Senate Appropriations Committee has unanimously passed an
appropriations markup measure, providing the FDA with a $2.04 billion
fiscal 2009 budget—$324.6 million more than the agency initially
received for fiscal 2008.
The FDA has updated its boxed warning, warnings and contraindications
sections of the prescribing information for micro-bubble contrast
agents to highlight the risk of serious cardiopulmonary reactions
within 30 minutes following the administration of the products.
Philips Healthcare, which has its headquarters in Andover, Mass., is
expected to announce that its U.S. parent company Philips Electronics
North America is moving its North American headquarters to the same
location.
