The Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology at
California State University, San Bernardino has opened its latest grant
solicitation for universities, government labs and small technology
companies interested in commercializing medical technologies for the
military.
The supply of MRI and CT scanners in Canada has increased over four years, according to a new report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information. However, Canada still falls just below the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development median.
Last year, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
released a broad comparison of death rates for heart attacks and heart
failure, generally noting how hospitals compared with the national
average, without releasing the actual death rates themselves. However,
the agency decided to change their policy and disclose the figures to
consumers this year.
Harris Healthcare Solutions is currently deploying digital pathology to the GreenZone in Baghdad, Iraq, which will permit doctors there to send scanned images of tissue instantly to Washington, D.C., for analysis by military pathologists.
