Canon has expanded its line of digital radiography (DR) systems with the introduction of the Canon CXDI-60G Portable Flat Panel Detector, which has applications that include room-to-room installations and mobile x-ray systems. The new systems will be on display at the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) meeting next week in Denver.

The CXDI-60G Portable Flat Panel Detector has a detachable sensor cable, which provides power to the unit and transfers data, enables room-to-room installation from multiple locations (with an optional power box and PC) and fits into most neo-natal incubator trays, according to Canon.

Weighing 5.9 pounds and measuring less than an inch thick, the new portable DR has an imaging area of 9 x 11 inches, the company said.
