FiatLux Imaging has received FDA 510(k) clearance for the new release of Visualize, its medical imaging application, which is based on video game technology, to create 2D/3D images from CT and MRI scans. Using the functionality of DirectX game programming protocols, engineers have created a medical image analysis tool for use by physicians anywhere, anytime, according to the Redmond, Wash.-based company. FiatLux Imaging CEO Mary Frances Feider said that harnessing the power and superior graphics capability of game technology for use in the medical imaging field brings a new level of affordable quality and accessibility to physicians and their patients. |
