German government issues grant to Morits for CAD project
Health Imaging News | October 15, 2007 | Industry News
The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology has issued a grant to Image Information Systems Group subsidiary Morits, a German imaging company, the University Hospital of Luebeck University and the University Koblenz-Landau for a joint research project for new approaches to reading volumetric datasets and creating structured reports.

The project, “Structured CAD,” is geared at developing a module with an extensive self-learning technique, with which it will be possible to segment and classify anatomic structures in 3D CT and MRI volumetric datasets.

The objective of the project is to improve the medical communication of diagnostic findings, the diagnostic quality of examinations, and to increase the velocity of diagnostic workflow.
