Aionex will use SkyeTek’s M1 HF SkyeModule to RFID-enable emergency rooms, operating rooms and intensive care units readers in its Patient Response Platform, software that communicates and documents patient information.

The Westminster, Colo.-based SkeTek SkyeModule will allow readers to enhance Aionex’s Patient Response Platform capabilities by accessing information needed to monitor patient care, authenticate hospital staff members and track process efficacy, according to the Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based Aionex.

Aionex said its platform uses infrared technology for staff but adopted RFID for patient wristbands.

Aionex and SkyeTek have been developing their RFID-enabled platform since 2006.
