Allscripts, Misys complete $325M merger
After a series of financial roadblocks, Misys Healthcare Systems has finalized its purchase of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, in a transaction totaling $325 million. The result of the merger is the formation of a new company, Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions (AllscriptsMisys).

The proposed merger, which started back in March, hit a roadblock in September, when Misys’ credit facility Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy, forcing the company to seek alternative sources of funding.

In late September, Misys obtained sufficient funding, putting the deal back on track.

The newly integrated company now has a client base of nearly one-third of the practicing physicians in the United States. AllscriptsMisys also provides information and connectivity solutions to more than 700 U.S. hospitals and nearly 7,000 post-acute and homecare organizations, according to Glen Tullman, CEO of AllscriptsMisys.

The brand name of AllscriptsMisys is Allscripts.
