eHealth Global helps RHIOs, community health networks exchange images
eHealth Global Technologies has released its Image Exchange Service for regional health information organizations (RHIOs) and Community Health Networks.

With one click, users can access images via the company’s eHealthViewer, a DICOM-compliant viewer that enables diagnostic-quality viewing of medical imaging. Users can perform 3D viewing and multi-planar (MPR) reformatting from any Windows PC or Windows Mobile smart phone, the company said.

The Image Exchange Service integrates into a health information exchange (HIE) environment using existing infrastructure, including the HIE’s authentication and consent models. It works across firewalls for secure access to images and utilizes DICOM and HL-7 standards as well as the latest web technologies, according to Ken Rosenfeld, eHealth president and chief technology officer.
