Harvard releases Swine Flu iPhone app
An H1N1 flu iPhone application has been unveiled by the Harvard Health Publications Division of Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass.

The application is said to include advice on how to reduce one’s risk of transmitting the flu, and how to respond in the event of a public health threat.  In addition, the application will also provide factual-based information on the current state of the spread of this pandemic, and signs and symptoms of the flu.

H1N1 is the first application in an upcoming series by HMS Mobile, whose goal is to provide the public with information on public health.

“People are increasingly receiving information through mobile devices which are always with us to give us answers—anytime, anywhere,” said Harvard Health Publications Editor-in-Chief, Anthony L. Komaroff., MD  “People who have a question about their health want an answer now.”
