Microsoft inks deal with Sentillon for Amalga enhancements
Sentillion has signed a licensing agreement with Microsoft, in which Sentillion will supply its single sign-on (SSO) and context-management technology to become a featured module of Microsoft Amalga Unified Intelligence System (UIS) 2009, an enterprise data aggregation platform.

Microsoft said that Amalga UIS 2009 pulls information such as a patient's medication lists, allergies and vital signs such as blood pressure and blood glucose from the patient's HealthVault PHR.

Through the licensing agreement with Sentillion, Microsoft will offer Sentillion's SSO and context management technology with Amalga UIS, enabling data to be delivered with patient context integrated into existing clinical workflows. Amalga UIS will use Sentillion's Bridge technology, which interfaces applications in order to achieve SSO and context management.

The new offering will be sold directly by Microsoft with the Amalga UIS platform, according to Paul Roscoe, president of the Andover, Mass.-based Sentillion.
