NDSsi acquires wireless HD technology, plans new product line
NDS Surgical Imaging (NDSsi) of San Jose, Calif., has acquired a wireless video technology that extends its current imaging capabilities in the operating room. By integrating the new technology with its medical visualization and informatics platforms, the company plans to develop an array of wireless solutions for surgical, endoscopy and interventional suites.

The new medical-grade ZeroWire product line will deliver full HD image quality with assured interference immunity and security, using the patented technology acquired from TZero Technologies, according to NDSsi.

Based upon open industry standards, ZeroWire products will be purpose built with ultra-low latency for real-time surgical video, the company said. With the acquisition, NDSsi also formed a wireless engineering team, creating the first dedicated wireless development capability in the medical visualization industry, said John Murphy, the company's president and CEO.
