Sorna debuts EMR DICOM viewer
Sorna has debuted Reviewer EMR, software that provides access to diagnostic images from a patient's EMR.
When a physician views a patient's EMR, a hyperlink to one or multiple diagnostic studies will be displayed that are contained in a provider's DICOM image archive, according to the Eagan, Minn.-based company. Reviewer EMR is deployed using Microsoft's ClickOnce Deployment technology.
Sorna said that its Reviewer EMR software has two additional features that protect the patient's records. The software is installed on a facility's Web server, where all subsequent updates are carried out. To maintain patient privacy and medical image record consistency, Reviewer EMR does not leave local copies of the images on users' workstation, Sorna added.
