Canada invites proposals for $34M medical isotope supply program
The government of Canada has issued a call for project proposals for its new CAD35 million ($33.69 million U.S.) medical isotopes supply program which will promote new sources of medical isotopes supply over both the medium and long term.

The funding will be provided over two years to advance linear accelerator and cyclotron technologies for the production of the medical isotope technetium-99m. The deadline for submitting project proposals is July 26.

The Government of Canada said it will continue to address short-term isotope supply issues by working in close collaboration with international partners as well as the medical community, the provinces and territories.
