FDA clears Digirad's portable nuc camera
Digirad has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA to market and distribute its ergo, a large field-of-view, portable imaging system.

According to the Poway, Calif.-based compnay, the system's portable design allows imaging to be performed in and outside of nuclear departments, including ICUs, emergency rooms, trauma units, women’s health units and researcher areas.

The system’s camera offers a larger field of view than its existing portable systems, according to Digirad. The ergo imaging system has a solid-state camera that presents a 12.5 by 15.5 inch field of view for nuclear imaging.

Digirad said it plans to ship its first production systems beginning in June to a number of medical centers in the U.S. and abroad.
