Molecular Imaging kicks off mobile PET/CT service
Molecular Imaging Corp. has initiated mobile PET/CT service in the northeast United States with contracts in New York.

The combination of positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) has become a very useful tool in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease and disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease. The PET scan is designed to detect abnormal metabolic activity, a precursor to many disease processes, while CT provides an image of the internal anatomy to view the size and shape of organs.

The San Diego company's mobile client list in the Northeast includes the University Hospital and Medical Center at the State University of New York in Stony Brook.
