Nuvu to commercialize EMCCD camera
Nuvu Cameras will be commercializing an Electron-Multiplying CCD (EMCCD) camera.

The EMCCD camera’s applications include high-contrast spectroscopy, low-flux imagery, biomedical diagnosis (age-related macular degeneration, cancer), and spatial remote sensing, as well as nuclear medicine gamma imagery, said the University of Montreal.

Olivier Daigle designed the camera as part of his PhD studies in astrophysics at the department of physics in the University of Montreal and the camera was conceived under the direction of professor Claude Carignan and Photon, a research and development company.
