RSNA attendance dips 4%; radiologist attendees hit record level
The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) reported the total registration of its annual conference was 56,824—4 percent lower than 2008, due mainly to reductions in exhibitor personnel and radiology support personnel attendance.

While the professional registration was 26,363—also 4 percent lower than 2008—the radiologist attendance reached 15,644, establishing a record in the meeting's history. Also, international registrants made up 34 percent of professionals with 9,060 attendees, making it the second-highest level in the meeting’s history.

Outside of general radiology, the largest representation from radiological subspecialty fields consisted of: diagnostic radiology (4,004), followed by MR (1,588), neuroradiology (1,483) and vascular & interventional (1,249).

Registrants were able to visit the technical exhibition in three buildings of McCormick Place, which consisted of over 700 companies in more than 455,000 square feet of space.
