ASRT, Siemens dole out rad scholarships
The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Education and Research Foundation has announced the 2010 Siemens Clinical Advancement Scholarship recipients.

The scholarship is awarded to ASRT members who are pursuing their bachelor’s or master’s degree in the radiologic sciences or specialty disciplines or certificate programs in radiation therapy or dosimetry. Siemens Healthcare has provided nearly $190,000 in funding for this scholarship since its inception in 2006.

Following a review process, the committee selected four radiologic science students to receive scholarships of $5,000 each. This year’s scholarship recipients are:
  • Jeffrey P. Smith is pursuing a master’s degree in the radiologist assistant program at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Penn.;
  • Rachel E. Colley is enrolled in a certificate program for medical imaging and radiologic science at CoxHealth School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in Springfield, Mo.;
  • Philip J. Bushey is enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in radiation therapy and dosimetry at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vt.; and
  • Jonathan R. Mazal  is enrolled in a master’s degree program for radiologist assistants at Ohio State University in Columbus.
