GE unveils computerized decision support solution
GE Healthcare has released a computerized decision support solution, which was co-developed with Intermountain Healthcare.

The technology provides customers with the capability to evaluate patient care against quality measures such as those identified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for various health conditions, according to the company. Once these practices are made available within the system, they can be shared across the health system.

GE also said that the technology allows real-time clinical review by capturing data from EMRs for many patients within a hospital unit on a single screen that signals variation from accepted practice standards

The pilot will launch at Intermountain in November and the company said it will unveil the full solution at the 2010 Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in March.
