The University Hospital Regensburg in Regensburg, Germany, has deployed Oncentra volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), a planning solution for rotational radiation therapy from Nucletron.

The software will allow image-guided photon, electron and proton treatment delivery with targeted radiation doses, said Veenendaal, Netherlands-based company.

Nucletron said that following the installation in Regensburg, Oncentra VMAT is now being used to treat patients at three additional European hospitals including Uppsala Akademiska Hospital in Uppsala, Sweden; Freiburg University Clinic in Freiburg, Germany; and Ospedale di Lecco, in Lecco, Italy.
