The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has launched a video contest to learn how patients and consumers are using health IT to manage their medications.

Patients are invited to create and submit videos that demonstrate how they have used electronic applications or patient portals to track prescriptions and request information or updated medication lists from their providers.

Videos should be shorter than two minutes in length and can be shot using a standard video recorder or phone with video function. Providers also are invited to submit videos that demonstrate how they’ve used health IT tools, such as e-prescribing or secure messaging, to help patients manage their medications.

Submissions are due by Oct. 1 and winners will eligible for cash prizes. More information on the ONC's fourth video contest is available on the challenge.gov website.
