According to the World Cancer report released by the World Health Organization (WHO) on World Cancer Day, cancer cases will increase to 57 percent within 20 years, as reported by CNN on Feb. 4.

The report predicts an imminent human disaster, with cancer cases estimated to reach 22 million in two decades. Cancer deaths are predicted to rise from 8.2 million a year to 13 million annually. A surge in the number of cancer cases per year will be largely attributed to the growth and aging of populations worldwide.
