Analogic Highlights Expanded Suite of Ultrasound Imaging Solutions for Interventional Radiology at SIR Annual Scientific Meeting

PEABODY, Mass., April 12, 2013 -- Analogic Corporation (Nasdaq:ALOG), enabling the world's medical imaging and aviation security technology, announced today that it will demonstrate its industry-leading BK Medical-branded Flex Focus(TM) 500 ultrasound system with Quantum Technology(TM) and the Ultrasonix-branded SonixTablet(TM) with GPS needle guidance, at the 38th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) in New Orleans, April 13-18.

"The innovative BK Medical-branded ultrasound systems, our unique transducer technology, and our expanded suite of Ultrasonix-branded ultrasound solutions offer a broad range of options for interventional radiologists," said Lars Shaw, vice president of global marketing.

The Flex Focus 500 with Quantum Technology offers image quality enhancements such as improved contrast resolution, gray scale maps, and image pre-sets that enable high-quality images. In addition, Quantum Technology incorporates unique Vector Flow Imaging* (VFI) mode, enabling angle independent visualization of blood flow, and an excellent color Doppler mode, enabling superb spatial resolution. Key benefits also include harmonic imaging for difficult-to-image patients.

Systems have a comprehensive offering of specialized transducers that assists in addressing the clinical challenges of interventional procedures.

The SonixTablet with SonixGPS(R) ultrasound guidance technology is a compact ultrasound system offering features designed to make interventional procedures more precise. The system includes options that assist clinicians in positioning the transducer in the ideal location for the target, and to select a needle angle that is direct and comfortable for each patient. The SonixTablet also offers a needle enhancement feature called SonixShine(TM), which highlights the needle in-plane with the push of a button.
