ASTRO adds members to Government Relations Department
ASTRO (American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology) hopes to boost its legislative activities through the addition of two new members to its Government Relations Department. Emily Wilson has been hired as government relations representative, and Amanda Sarata brings a wealth of healthcare experience to her new post as senior policy analyst, the organization said.

Wilson is responsible for heading up ASTRO's lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill as well as working with the organization's members to develop grassroots efforts in their home states. In addition, Wilson will be responsible for managing ASTRO's political action committee, ASTRO PAC.

Sarata will work on federal legislative and regulatory issues affecting radiation oncology to include cancer quality care and nuclear regulatory concerns. In addition, she will be ASTRO's liaison to federal healthcare agencies.
