Barco showcased its newest cost-effective PACS display system last month at HIMSS 2006 in San Diego. The Nio Color 2MP is a flexible display system that offers clinical confidence and dependable performance for several applications, including 3D PACS, ultrasound, orthopedic imaging, cardiology, ophthalmology, nuclear medicine and PET. The system recently received FDA 510 (k) clearance.

Barco also displayed its Voxar 3D Enterprise solution which helps users review, report and communicate patient cases more quickly through its capability to rapidly deliver large volumetric studies to a workstation and provide real-time interaction with Voxar 3D’s advanced visualization and analysis tools. With the slogan “3D Everywhere” Barco also is now beta testing Voxar version 6.1.

The company also showcased CardiaMetrix, its CT cardiac structural and functional analysis software which efficiently visualizes and analyzes 2D, 3D and 4D cardiac images for quantitative evaluation of cardiac anatomy and function. As an integrated suite of cardiac modules, CardiaMetrix provides an easy-to-use, productive and clinically effective reading methodology that requires minimal user intervention and editing. CardiaMetrix is available as an optional clinical application module within Voxar 3D and can be seamlessly integrated with PACS. Its integrated suite of cardiac application modules include coronary artery vessel analysis, coronary artery calcium scoring, 4D cardiac analysis, and cardiac analysis.
