Eclipsys names Perkins as new EVP, CFO
Chris E. Perkins has been named Eclipsys' executive vice president (VP) and chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately. He will report to Phil Pead, Eclipsys' CEO and president.

In this position, Perkins will be responsible for the company's financial operations, audit controls and financial business planning.

The Atlanta-based Eclipsys said that Perkins has more than 15 years of executive experience in the public sector. At Per-Se Technologies, a provider of acute-care solutions, physician outsourcing services and practice management and claims processing services, he served first as EVP and CFO, and then as EVP and chief operating officer until the 2007 acquisition of Per-Se by McKesson.

After the sale of Per-Se, he served briefly as EVP and CFO of Emageon, a provider of diagnostic imaging and archiving software during a transitional period for that company. Prior to joining Per-Se in 2000, he served for eight years at Agco, a manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment.

Perkins also is a director of Immucor, a provider of various reagents and automated systems/instruments that are used by hospitals, clinical laboratories, and blood banks, where he serves on the audit committee and the governance and nomination committee, according to Eclipsys.
