InforMed has announced that Garry Carneal, JD, MA, has been named president of InforMed Medical Management Services, Inc. (IMMS). IMMS uses advanced web-based technology to provide medical management to improve patient-physician relationships through informational and clinical support, the company said.
"Garry has demonstrated his leadership during his nine-year tenure at URAC by expanding URAC's mission from a small boutique accreditation firm to one of the premier health quality organizations in the United States," said Mitchell Davis, CEO and President of InforMed in a release.
Carneal will begin his new position at IMMS in early September. Prior to his service as President of URAC, Carneal was vice president of Legal and State Services at the American Association of Health Plans (AAHP) and as legislative counsel to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
IMMS is a joint venture between InforMed-LLC, an Annapolis, Md.-based health care IT company, and Medical Management and Rehabilitation Services (MMARS), a Baltimore, Md.-based medical management organization and URAC accredited organization.
