Isis hires Bedigian as new VP, chief medical officer

Martin P. Bedigian, MD, will join Isis on August 18, as vice president and chief medical officer.

In the position, the Carlsbad, Calif.-based company said that Bedigian will take the lead for all medical aspects of Isis' clinical development programs.

Bedigian comes from Novartis Pharmaceuticals, where he was the global head of the cardiovascular assessment group, Isis said. During his tenure at Novartis, Isis said Bedigian was a lead member of exploratory development, translational medicine and the integrated safety assessment board.
