Medical device manufacturer Medtronic said its board of directors has elected William Hawkins to the position of president and CEO and Michael DeMane to the position of COO.
Arthur Collins, the former CEO, remains in his post as chairman of the board, according to the Minneapolis-based firm.
Hawkins joined the company in January 2002 as senior vice president and president of Medtronic’s vascular business and was named president and COO of Medtronic in 2004.
DeMane was appointed president of Medtronic Europe, Canada, Latin America and emerging markets in August 2005. From 2002 to 2005, he served as president of Medtronic spinal; ear, nose and throat; and navigation. Prior to that, he was president of spinal systems for Medtronic Sofamor Danek, Medtronic’s spinal business.
