Tennessee research institute appoints Manoukian to lead cardiovascular initiative
The Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) in Nashville, Tenn., has named Steven V. Manoukian, MD, FACC, FSCAI, director of cardiovascular research, where he will lead a major cardiovascular research initiative at SCRI.

Manoukian was most recently director of interventional cardiology at Emory Crawford Long Hospital and assistant professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. SCRI also noted that he is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology.   

“This full-scale initiative is a reflection of SCRI’s commitment to a quality, comprehensive clinical research program. We believe that this program has the potential for significant growth under Dr. Manoukian’s leadership, both on a local and national level,” said Dee Anna Smith, CEO of SCRI.

Manoukian will also serve as medical director, cardiology services for the Hospital Corporation of America, a provider of healthcare services, SCRI said. 

SCRI said that Manoukian will practice clinical cardiology at Centennial Heart Cardiovascular Consultants in Nashville, Tenn., a provider of cardiology services in Middle Tennessee and one of SCRI’s strategic investigative sites.
