WiFiMed secures funding, expands senior management team
Tablet MD developer WiFiMed Inc. this week announced the closing of a $1 million Series A round of funding, the kick-off of a Series B round, and the appointment of Mark Bloomberg, MD, as chief medical officer, and Anthony DaSilva as executive vice president of sales and marketing.
   
According to WiFiMed, the funding supports the launch of Tablet MD, an integrated, tablet-based system to manage the physician/patient interaction.
   
Bloomberg, an associate clinical professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine, brings more than 20 years of clinical practice and healthcare management experience to WiFiMed. Previously, he was the chief medical officer of Private Health Care Systems. Earlier, Bloomberg served as corporate medical director of Tufts Health Plans.
   
DaSilva has more than 20 years of sales, marketing, business development and consulting management experience. Prior to joining WiFiMed, DaSilva held positions at a number of emerging IT security companies, including Rosetta Technologies.
