Tech CEO: Physicians will need to become more empathetic alongside AI

According to a recent article by CNBC, Kharraz explained that a shift will occur in the type of personalities attracted to practicing medicine, as healthcare increasingly relies on AI in the clinical workspace. Physicians will need to have a strong sense of empathy and an ability to listen.

These traits will be especially importatnt for imaging professionals, as the article claims radiologists could be obsolete within a few years, while AI in healthcare care will be worth $10 billion by 2024. According to the article, Kharraz is not the only technologist to suggest that AI and machine learning will change the medical sector once fully implemented.

"Doctors in the future will come from the same pool as actors," said Kharraz, in an interview on Thursday at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare conference in San Francisco. "[However,] machine learning is great for repetitive things that require large data-sets."
