Bard sees Q4 profit jump
C. R. Bard, a medical device maker, reported an increase in net income for its fourth quarter fiscal 2007 results.

For the quarter, the Murray Hill, N.J.-based company said its net sales were $583.3 million, an increase of 12 percent compared to $519,700 for the prior-year period.

Bard booked a net income from continuing operations of $105.2 million, an increase of 64 percent, as compared to $22,000 in the same period last year.

For the full year 2007, income from continuing operations was $406.4 million compared to a profit of $272.1 million in the same quarter in 2006.

C. R. Bard is a multinational developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical technologies in the fields of vascular, urology, oncology and surgical specialty products.
