RTI samples new cardiovascular PACS
RealTimeImage (RTI) used ACC this week to preview its web-based cardiology image management system, iPACS Cardio.

The digital cardiovascular imaging system supports concurrent viewing, management and archiving of cine cardiac imaging modalities, including cath, echo, MR and CT.

The system offers a number of cardiology workflow-related tools, including pan and zoom, magnification, manipulation and analysis tools for all modalities. Multiple cardiac images can be opened and reviewed simultaneously.

Optional functionalities include quantitative coronary analysis, left ventricular analysis and quantitative analysis of vascular morphology in peripheral arteries, RTI said.

The system employs RTI's Pixels-on-Demand technology to transmit lossless images securely over the Internet so that studies can be read remotely and sent to referring physicians.

According to RTI, the system will be installed at beta testing sites soon.
