X-ray machine allows cleft palate patients to be treated at single clinic

A new x-ray machine in a Colorado Springs clinic is making it easier for patients to get treated for cleft palate conditions in a single location.

Brettney O’Connell has two young children who were born with cleft palates. Between appointments that could require a two-hour drive and trying to balance everyday life, O’Connell faced difficulties in making appointments. Now, with a new Panorex x-ray imaging technology at Children’s Colorado, Urgent and Outpatient Specialty Care at Briargate, her two kids can get the care they need all in one stop.

Officials and a pediatric ear, nose and throat doctor were all in attendance as one of O’Connell's children became the first to get scanned using the new panoramic dental x-ray machine at the clinic.
