ACR launches radiology relief fund for Haiti
The American College of Radiology (ACR) Foundation has initiated the Haiti Radiology Relief Fund, an effort that will provide Haitian healthcare facilities with radiology equipment, supplies and materials as well as physician and medical physicist volunteers, said the ACR.

The foundation is seeking contributions from radiologists, radiologic technologists and other ancillary health care personnel, and from radiology organizations, patients, and radiology and non-radiology corporations, said the Reston, Va.-based foundation.

“We urge all of those in the radiology community to give what they can to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis that is unfolding in Haiti,” said James Thrall, MD, chair of the ACR Board of Chancellors. “The ACR recognizes both the immediate and longer term radiological needs in Haiti and we hope this fund will provide relief as the people of Haiti seek to recover from the devastation.”
