Agfa wins radiology and cardiology PACS / CVIS contract at Morris Hospital
Agfa HealthCare announced that Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers of Morris, Ill., has installed the company’s integrated radiology and cardiology solution that includes the IMPAX PACS and Cardiovascular Image and Information Management (CVIS) solutions. The installation of the two integrated systems at Morris Hospital, which performs 60,000 radiology and cardiology exams each year, was completed early in the second quarter of 2007.

"Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX and CVIS solutions with a unified patient database will greatly improve our clinical workflow in both the radiology and cardiology departments, helping our staff to be more efficient," said John Roundtree, PACS administrator, Morris Hospital. "Already we have seen greater flexibility, thanks to the systems' multi-vendor integration capabilities, which have been a tremendous help to us here at Morris Hospital in our quest to provide increased quality of care for our patients."

Combined with Agfa HealthCare's Cardiology CVIS, required images and the efficiency-enabling structured reporting functionality will be stored in a central archive solution, thus making information from both disciplines available throughout the enterprise. "The complete cardiology patient record is easily accessed by each user and diagnostic decisions can be made more quickly. We were looking for a vendor that could integrate cardiology and radiology as well as our current ECG / stress / holter management systems.
