AHRA announces new CRAs
The American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) this week announced the results of its Certified Radiology Administrator examination administered on April 17.

The organization says that 85 percent of the 62 individuals who took the exam received passing scores and are now certified radiology administrators. Recognized now by the credential, CRA, there are approximately 400 certified Radiology Administrators nationwide.

Consisting of 185 questions, AHRA says that 30 percent of the questions are based on knowledge, 40 percent on tested application skills and 30 percent involve image analysis. The specific domains the questions focus on include: human resource management, asset resource management, fiscal management, operations management, and communications and information management.

The CRA is the first credentialing program offered to radiology administrators and is hosted by AHRA's Radiology Administration Certification Commission. The program is funded by a five-year grant from Eastman Kodak's Health Imaging Division.

The next CRA examination will be held Saturday, July 31 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. in Boston, Mass., in conjunction with AHRA's annual meeting and exposition. CRA applications for the exam must be postmarked by July 9.
