AHRA: New CRAs announced, upcoming exams in March
The American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) announced this week that 65 percent of the 51 radiology administrators who took the October 31 Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) examination received a passing score and are now CRAs.

According to AHRA, there are currently over 475 CRAs nationwide.

The CRA is a certification program for radiology administrators and is administered by the Radiology Administration Certification Commission of the AHRA. The CRA program is designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and recognize administrators who demonstrate knowledge essential to the practice of radiology management.

Development of the CRA exam was supported by a grant from Kodak Health Imaging

The next set of CRA exams will be administered in computer-based format on Saturday, March 19 at approximately 125 CompUSA Testing Centers located in 34 states, AHRA said.

There also will be an administration of the CRA exam, in paper-and-pencil format, at AHRA's 33rd Annual Meeting & Exposition on Saturday, August 6, in San Antonio, Texas.

The cost for the exam is $300 plus a $50 application fee to verify eligibility, AHRA said. Exam applications are available at http://www.ahraonline.org or by calling the AHRA office at 978-443-7591 or 800-334-2472.
