Health IT vendor Allscripts has entered into a reseller and development partnership with speech recognition developer M*Modal, allowing Allscripts to incorporate M*Modal’s Speech Understanding technology into its EHRs.

The Chicago-based Allscripts said that the Franklin, Tenn.-based M*Modal’s technology will allow narrative patient documentation to occur within its EHRs, as well as its other products.

M*Modal also recently announced a partnership with Merge Healthcare.
