Allscripts lands Texas EHR placement
Healthcare information technology systems developer Allscripts said that it has been selected by Urology Associates of North Texas (UANT) as the practice’s electronic health record (EHR) provider. The Chicago-based firm will be providing connectivity with the automated EHR system to 50 physicians in the practice.
UANT is the largest integrated private practice urology group in the U.S., providing services in 20 locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and serving 36,000 new patients annually.
The group was one of the first large, single-specialty practices in the nation to adopt a paperless EHR five years ago, and has over 350,000 patients in an active database. The Allscripts EHR will replace that system, and will also integrate with a GE Healthcare Centricity Business practice management system, the vendor said.
