AOL ex-chief starts Revolution
Former AOL chairman Steve Case this week announced a Washington, D.C.-based $500 million venture called Revolution. The venture owns controlling stakes in providers of healthcare services, manage resort properties, and operate in other related fields.

Case hopes to refocus the healthcare system on consumers and less on business, and also to address the issue of enormous inefficiency within the industry, he said in an interview.

The specific healthcare ventures that will be pursued have for the most part not been disclosed, though the wellness business is likely to be a key area of focus, said Case.

Case's firm has announced the acquisition of a controlling stake in Wisdom Media Group, a company that produces radio and television programming for health and wellness issues. Additionally, controlling stakes have also been acquired for two other firms: Exclusive Resorts, a luxury vacation club; and Miraval, a wellness resort.
