Aribex--a developer of x-ray devices for the dental, veterinary, forensic, security and industrial verification markets--has filed a patent infringement complaint against three manufacturers concerning its Nomad handheld x-ray system.

According to the company, the complaint was filed after numerous attempts to resolve infringement concerns regarding Seoul, South Korea-based DigiMed's product, the Bio-Ray Prox, which is distributed by Buffalo, Ill.-based Sigma Biomedics and Fountain Valley, Calif.-based Dentalaire Products.

Specifics of the damages are unclear; however, Aribex has alleged that property rights of its handheld x-ray products were “knowingly” and “unfairly violated.”
