ARRS will provide continuing education for radiologic technologists
The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) will launch its continuing education for radiologic technologists (CERT) program in January 2008.

The program will offer the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) category A credit in the most needed areas, including CT, mammography and MRI.

CERT tuition is free for ARRS members.

A new CERT lesson will be available each month on the ARRS website, providing radiologic technologists convenient access to continuing education (CE) credits.

In addition, ARRT has added ARRS to its list of Recognized Continuing Education Evaluation Mechanisms (RCEEMs) this year.

RCEEMs review and evaluate proposed continuing education activities to assure they meet the ARRT definition of continuing education. Registered technologists, or RTs, may earn category A credit to satisfy ARRT’s CE requirements by completing activities approved by RCEEMs.

“This is the only CE provider that utilizes peer-reviewed material from a respected radiologic journal and formats it specifically with radiologic technologists in mind,” said Eugene D. Frank, MA, RTCR, FASRT, FAERS, editor of the CERT program. “Another major plus is that this educational content is among the most current available anywhere in the world, allowing technologists to enrich their skills and be a successful member of the radiologic team.”
