ARRT extends baccalaureate deadline for RPA pathway in RRA cert
ARRT is extending by four years the deadline for RPAs (registered radiologist assistant) to earn the baccalaureate degree necessary to apply for RPA certification under the temporary eligibility pathway initially announced in fall 2005.
RPAs will now have through December 31, 2011, to apply for RRA certification from ARRT. The previously announced deadline was December 31, 2007.
The extension will permit more RPAs to qualify for ARRT’s RRA. certification. “Once we learned that nearly half of all RPAs did not meet our baccalaureate degree requirement,” said ARRT President Anne C. Chapman, RT(R)(N), CNMT, “we decided to extend the deadline to allow time for degree completion.”
