Siemens Healthcare demonstrated its Acuson SC2000 volume imaging ultrasound system at the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) meeting in Washington, D.C., this week.

The Acusion SC200 acquires non-stitched, real-time, full-volume 3D images of the heart, according to Siemens. New to the system is the INFocus coherent imaging technology, which delivers full-field transmit focusing and uses the power of 64 receive beams, the company said.

Siemens also showcased its Acuson AcuNav V catheter, a volume 3D intra-cardiac echocardiography catheter that delivers real-time volumetric information from inside the heart.
