AssistMed acquires Clinication
AssistMed Inc. announced yesterday that it has acquired Clinication Inc., a North Carolina-based provider of patient adherence management systems. Terms were not disclosed.

Clinication's software-based solutions instruct, remind, and reward patients—engaging them in a monitored, self-managed program designed to support long-term adherence with medication and self-care regimens.

"Patient non-compliance with healthcare regimes represents an annual cost of more than $100 billion in the U.S. alone. It has become a significant public health problem for ambulatory patient care," said Leonardo Berezovsky, MD, chairman and CEO of AssistMed. "Clinication's innovative technology solutions, including web, mobile phone, e-mail and instant messenger patient interfaces, complement AssistMed's suite of patient-centric solutions that encourage the utilization of clinical information technology solutions to improve the delivery of healthcare.”
