The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology announced this week that more than 1,500 abstracts were submitted for the scientific program of ASTRO's 47th annual meeting to be held October 16 - 20, in Denver.
   
The number of submissions rose by more than 200 from 2004. Thirty-six percent of those abstracts were received from outside the United States.
   
Last year, ASTRO's annual meeting drew more than 10,000 attendees to Atlanta where 207 oral and 600 poster presentations were given on all manners of radiation oncology and disease sites.
